1.Open Channel Flow Meter Product Introduction
Open Channel Flow Meter is a fully automatic flowmeter based on microwave technology that measures the flow rate and level of a water body in a non-contact manner.Open Channel Flow Meter is mainly composed of radar flow meter and radar water level meter. The flow meter is used to collect the surface velocity of the fluid, and the average flow velocity of the water section is calculated through model calculation. The flow cross-sectional area is calculated by combining the water level measured by the water level meter and the cross-sectional information. The flow rate is obtained by using the formula flow rate = average flow velocity × flow cross-sectional area × correction coefficient, where the correction coefficient is calculated based on the standard value obtained from the actual measurement environment.

3. Selection of channel sections for Open Channel Flow Meter measurement
The selection of the measuring channel section is directly related to the accuracy of the flow measurement. In order to obtain better measurement results, the measuring channel section should meet the following conditions as much as possible:
1. There are no huge rocks blocking the water in the test channel section, and there are no huge whirlpools, turbulent flow and other phenomena.
2. The test channel section should be straight, stable and have concentrated water flow.
3. The test channel section needs to be hardened and the measuring section should be regular.
4. The test channel section should be kept smooth to prevent accumulation of floating objects.
4. Open Channel Flow Meter Installation Notes
1. When installing the flow meter, the water level meter and flow meter radar must not be blocked, otherwise it will affect the measurement accuracy.
2. When installing the flow meter, ensure that the upper surface of the casing is level as much as possible and install it in the middle of the channel.
3. It is recommended that the velocity meter beam be pointed in the direction of incoming water, as shown in Figure 3-3, and the horizontal angle with the water flow direction should be 0 degrees.
4. The flow meter is only affected by dynamic targets. When the channel is hardened and there are no weeds or trees, even if the beam is irradiated to both sides of the channel, it will not affect the flow measurement.
