The device is based on the principle of pressure-based measurement, whereby the height of the water surface is calculated by monitoring the change in the weight of the liquid in the evaporating dish, which in turn gives the amount of evaporation. This technique is applicable to a variety of environments, including water surface icing conditions, and overcomes the shortcomings of traditional ultrasonic measurement methods under extreme conditions.
The water surface evaporation sensor can be adapted to the evaporation monitoring needs of many fields such as meteorological observation, agriculture, forestry, geological survey and scientific research. It can be used in conjunction with automatic water replenishment, data acquisition and transmission equipment to achieve automatic monitoring of the evaporation process, and can also be combined with a data logger to automatically store evaporation data, or paired with rainfall sensors and other equipment to achieve automatic monitoring of evaporation and rainfall and remote data transmission.
The design of the equipment takes into account the avoidance of evaporation errors caused by direct sunlight, ensuring high precision and fast response of the measurement. It is made of 304 stainless steel to ensure corrosion resistance and aesthetics for long-term use. Pressure measurement principle combined with high precision weighing technology provides accurate measurement results. Double-layer stainless steel protective structure effectively isolates the external interference and ensures the accuracy of measurement. The device maintains the correctness of the output data even when the power is re-energised after a power failure.
Technical Parameters
The device can operate stably at operating temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius and humidity from 0 to 100 per cent, the storage humidity should be less than 80 per cent to avoid condensation. The supply voltage is 12V DC, the measuring range is from 0 to 190mm, the accuracy reaches ±1%, the signal output adopts 485 Modbus-RTU protocol, the response time is 200ms, the inner barrel calibre is φ200mm, and the protection grade is IP66, which is suitable for outdoor use.
Installation steps
Open the product package, lay the equipment shell, inner tank and base flat on the horizontal ground, ready for assembly.
Firstly, loosen the top wire of the base.
Next, place the inner liner into the tray of the base.
Then, place the housing over the base with the liner already in place.
Rotate the housing until the bolt holes in its bottom are accurately aligned with the bolt holes in the tray of the base, and insert the bolts to secure it.
Finally, mount the entire assembled unit securely on the pre-prepared concrete base.
