1.Doppler Ultrasonic Flow Meter Product Overview
Doppler Ultrasonic Flow Meter is an instrument that can monitor velocity and discharge at the same time. It is suitable for contact flow measurement in open channels and natural rivers.Doppler Ultrasonic Flow Meter (hereinafter referred to as the product) is a new generation of Doppler flowmeter developed by our company based on ultrasonic Doppler, spectrum analysis and low power consumption technology. The product consists of flow velocity measurement module, liquid level measurement module, temperature measurement module, microcontroller, communication module, power supply module, etc., integrating the measurement, storage and communication of flow velocity, liquid level, temperature and flow. It is suitable for flow velocity and flow measurement of open channels, rivers, drainage pipe networks, and various full and part-full pipes.
2. Working Principle of Doppler Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Product flow rate measurement is based on the Doppler effect. The probe emits a beam of ultrasonic waves obliquely upward. When the ultrasonic wave contacts impurities or bubbles in the fluid, the reflected ultrasonic wave will produce a Doppler frequency shift Δf. The Doppler frequency shift Δf is proportional to the fluid flow rate. By measuring the Doppler frequency shift Δf, the flow rate V of the fluid can be measured.
The product measures liquid level based on a pressure sensor. The fluid cross-sectional area S can be automatically calculated through the set channel parameters. Based on the velocity-area method, the liquid flow rate Q can be measured.

4. How to use Doppler Ultrasonic Flow Meter
1. Installation requirements
Water quality requirements: According to the measurement principle, the water to be tested must contain certain tiny impurities or bubbles, but there should not be too much floating objects in the water to avoid interference.
Water flow requirements: It should be installed downstream of a straight section with a fixed cross-section. The length of the straight section should preferably be 5-10 times the hydraulic radius of the channel (the longer the straight section, the higher the measurement accuracy). There should be no flow obstacles (such as sluices, weirs, etc.) within this distance to ensure the uniformity and stability of the water flow in front of the probe.

In order to keep the instrument working properly, please ask maintenance personnel to maintain the instrument regularly.
The two circular ultrasonic transceivers at the front of the sensor should be protected from impact or scratches by hard objects. If there are foreign objects attached to them, they should be rinsed with clean water or gently scrubbed with a soft cloth.
The pressure sensor at the bottom is located in the mesh water-permeable hole. Its pressure membrane is very thin and must not be touched by hard objects. The instrument should also be protected when it is out of water and not in use. Any foreign matter attached around the water-permeable hole should be carefully removed.
