Metallic Particle Sensor Monitors Metal Shavings in Lubricating Oil Return Lines

Metallic Particle Sensor utilizes electromagnetic induction to monitor the quantity and size distribution of ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic particles in lubricating oil online. The particle concentration detection range is 0-100%, with a resolution of 0.01%. The sensor must be installed before the filter, at the lowest point of the return oil line. Data demodulation assesses the degree of damage to bearings or gearboxes, providing early warning and lifespan prediction for mechanical equipment.

Metallic Particle Sensor is an online monitoring device used to detect metal wear debris in the return oil line of transmission equipment in real time. This sensor uses the principle of electromagnetic induction. When metal particles in the lubricating oil pass through the sensor's detection area, they cause magnetic field disturbances. The sensor converts this change into an electrical signal, thereby acquiring information such as the quantity, size, and properties of the metal particles. The particle concentration detection range is 0-100%, with a resolution of 0.01%. By continuously recording the accumulation trend of metal shavings and combining it with data demodulation analysis, the wear condition and damage degree of core components such as bearings and gearboxes can be determined.

The installation location of Metallic Particle Sensor has strict requirements. To ensure accurate test results, the sensor must be installed before the filter, at the lowest point of the return oil line. This is because the filter intercepts metal particles prematurely; if installed after the filter, accurate wear data cannot be obtained. The lowest point of the return oil line facilitates the deposition and aggregation of metal particles, improving detection efficiency. The sensor integrates a high-sensitivity data sampling and processing unit, capable of simultaneously detecting the distribution and size of ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic metal particles and calculating particle concentration, enabling 24-hour continuous online monitoring without downtime.

Metallic Particle Sensor is suitable for lubricating oil condition monitoring in various large industrial equipment such as wind turbine gearboxes, mining machinery, marine engines, aircraft engines, and hydraulic systems. By continuously monitoring the trend of wear debris generation in the oil, the system can determine whether equipment wear is accelerating, providing early warning signals before failures occur and providing an estimate of the equipment's remaining lifespan. In conjunction with an online oil monitoring system platform, it can simultaneously collect data on multiple parameters such as oil temperature, moisture, and viscosity, transmitting this data to a cloud platform via wired or wireless means. Users can remotely view changes in equipment wear status on a PC or mobile device. This technology transforms equipment maintenance from reactive, post-hoc repair to predictive, proactive maintenance, effectively reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance costs, and extending equipment service life.
