The Shandong Fengtu piezoelectric rainfall sensor utilizes a PVDF piezoelectric film as its sensing element. It incorporates an embedded AI neural network to identify raindrop signals, effectively reducing false triggers caused by debris (such as gravel or dust) or vibrations. The sensor provides stable, accurate data on precipitation amount, intensity, and the start and end times of rainfall, making it suitable for diverse applications in meteorology, hydrology, transportation, agriculture, forestry, and wind power generation.
Featuring an integrated, solid-state design with no mechanical parts or exposed moving components, the sensor filters out interference from leaves, insects, and dust. It offers high measurement precision, a wide operating range, excellent stability, low power consumption, and robust resistance to external interference. It enables continuous, all-weather data collection, with rainfall duration monitored at a one-second resolution. The curved surface of the sensor prevents water accumulation, eliminating the need for manual maintenance. Upon installation, the device performs an automatic level calibration, removing the need for on-site manual calibration. Its compact size ensures ease of transport, assembly, and disassembly. The sensor has a measurement range of 0–4 mm/min, an error margin within ±4%, a resolution of 0.01 mm, and a sampling interval of less than one second. It utilizes an RS485 interface and the MODBUS communication protocol. Powered by 12V DC with a power consumption of only 0.12W, the unit operates reliably in environments ranging from -40°C to 85°C and 0% to 100% relative humidity.
This device can be integrated into automated hydrological monitoring systems and field-based weather stations, providing reliable precipitation data for flood control, water supply management, and reservoir/hydropower station water-level regulation. Unlike traditional tipping-bucket rain gauges, this sensor is not prone to mechanical issues such as jamming or wear. It exhibits a lower failure rate during long-term field deployment, making it an ideal choice for remote monitoring sites where maintenance access is limited. The manufacturer can provide tailored technical support based on project-specific communication and installation requirements, ensuring stable integration of the equipment with existing monitoring platforms and meeting the needs for long-term, continuous observation at various monitoring sites.
