Online suspended solids sensors utilize the principle of infrared light scattering to measure the concentration of suspended solids in water. They offer high precision, rapid response, and strong interference resistance, supporting real-time online monitoring suitable for wastewater treatment and water quality analysis; they are easy to install and offer stable, durable operation.
These sensors are core optical detection devices in the fields of water quality monitoring and wastewater treatment, operating primarily on the principle of infrared light scattering. The device emits an infrared light beam into the water; suspended solid particles scatter the beam, and the sensor precisely captures the intensity of the scattered light. Using built-in algorithms, it converts this signal into a real-time concentration value, enabling dynamic monitoring of suspended solids content.
Equipped with mature hardware technology to ensure measurement stability, the sensor features a dedicated signal isolation module that effectively shields against various signal interferences common in complex industrial water environments, significantly enhancing data accuracy and repeatability. It offers a measurement resolution of 0.1 mg/L and a range of 0–2000 mg/L, meeting the needs for monitoring suspended solids in various water types—such as standard wastewater, surface water, and process water—with stable, controllable precision suitable for routine monitoring operations.
In terms of structure and usability, the sensor is highly practical. It meets the IP68 waterproof standard, allowing for stable operation in non-freezing water environments (0–50°C) and pressures up to 0.2 MPa, making it suitable for long-term underwater deployment. The housing features a 3/4 NPT pipe thread, supporting various installation methods such as immersion, pipeline mounting, and tank mounting. Installation is simple and convenient, and the unit comes with a standard 5-meter dedicated cable, making it compatible with most industrial monitoring scenarios.
Compared to traditional detection equipment, online suspended solids sensors are compact and fast-responding, offering key advantages such as low data drift and excellent thermal stability. They eliminate the need for frequent manual calibration or constant supervision, requiring only a two-point calibration to maintain long-term measurement accuracy. The device operates on a 12–24 VDC low-voltage power supply, featuring low power consumption and compatibility with industrial power systems. It supports standard RS485 (Modbus-RTU) signal output, enabling direct integration with central control systems for continuous, 24-hour real-time monitoring. It is widely used in applications such as municipal sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, and routine environmental water quality monitoring.
