Portable IV Curve Tester: Fast, Accurate, and Reliable PV Module Assessment

IV curve testing is an important means to evaluate the electrical performance of photovoltaic modules or arrays. By measuring the current of photovoltaic devices at different voltages, the current-voltage (IV) curve is plotted, and key parameters such as short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage, and maximum power point are analyzed to detect problems such as performance degradation and potential faults of the components.

 

The Portable IV Curve Tester is specifically designed for rapid on-site detection, with the model number FT-IV2. This instrument uses high-precision measurement chips and can perform accurate IV curve tests on photovoltaic modules and strings. It supports dual voltage ranges of 1000V/1500V, meeting the detection requirements of power stations with different system voltages. The instrument has a rapid measurement function and can complete a test within 30 seconds, generating a test report that includes data such as the IV curve, maximum power, and fill factor, providing an intuitive basis for evaluating the performance of the power station.

 

The FT-IV2 features a color touch screen design, equipped with a graphical operation interface, allowing inspectors to easily complete parameter settings and the testing process. It has a built-in large-capacity lithium battery with a battery life of more than 8 hours. It supports offline storage of more than 2000 groups of test data and can transmit the data to a computer or mobile device via USB or Bluetooth, facilitating subsequent analysis and processing. Meanwhile, the instrument has an automatic calibration function and can conduct precision calibration regularly to ensure the reliability and stability of the test results. Thanks to its portability, high precision, and high efficiency, this tester has become an important tool for daily inspections, fault diagnosis, and performance evaluation of photovoltaic power stations, helping to improve the operation and maintenance efficiency and power generation benefits of the power stations.
